Ichiro's Malt Double Distilleries is a pure malt whiskey blended from the malt liquor of Hanyu Distillery and Chichibu Distillery. This Ichiro's Malt Double Distilleries was voted "Best Japanese Blended Malt Whiskey" at the 2009 World Whiskey Awards (WWA).
The original liquor of Hanyu Distillery mainly uses Bourbon oak barrels (Puncheon barrels) and sherry barrels for aging, while the original liquor of Chichibu Distillery uses Mizunara barrels unique to Japan. Mizunara wooden barrels bring a unique oriental flavor, which perfectly blends with the sweet flavor of Hanyu original sake, playing a harmonious melody.
In order to retain the natural flavor, this whiskey is not chill-filtered (Non Chill-Filtered) and does not add artificial colors (Non Colored). Its label design is inspired by the leaves of the Japanese oak "Mizunara".
When you taste it, you can feel the sweet aroma like honey, accompanied by the subtle sourness of citrus fruits. In this Oriental scent, you can also taste the spicy aroma of ginger and black pepper.
Because this product is committed to maintaining its natural flavor, it has not been chilled, filtered or added with artificial colors, so it is more prone to sediment or turbidity than ordinary products.
